Schools can Make Music Happen

Calling all schools in Scotland! Help us to Make Music Happen.

There are many people in Scotland, some of whom are probably very close to your school who are in hospital, a hospice or a care home who are not able to enjoy music, especially live music. You can help us to take live music to them.
If you and your school would like to make a difference to the lives of people in local hospitals, care homes, hospices – this is the scheme for you. Make Music Happen offers students the opportunity to have a real impact within their local community, to help raise awareness of the importance of quality of life factors for people in care and to collaborate as a team on a fundraising project.

The scheme is very simple:

  • your school chooses a local care unit(s)
  • pupils hold a fundraising event to fund an MiH concert by raising £257
  • Music in Hospitals arranges a live concert(s) at your chosen care unit and where possible, invites some school pupils to attend the concert too.

Call either Laura or Sarah at the MiH office (0131 556 5848) to get the ball rolling.
