Some general information about our musicians' concerts:
Music in Hospitals arranges around 1,600 concerts a year in hospitals, hospices, care homes and day centres throughout Scotland. We use around seventy groups of dedicated professional musicians, ranging from string quartets to folk groups and ceilidh bands, whose skills reflect the wealth of musical talent that Scotland has to offer. All groups perform show songs, Scottish music and well known tunes people can sing along to, whether for children, young adults or an elderly audience.
Concerts can be arranged for specific dates and times: morning, afternoon or evening to fit in with the care unit's routine and they usually last up to an hour and a quarter. We encourage care units to request concerts for any time that suits them, whether for a resident's birthday party, an anniversary or just to make a special afternoon.
