May 2011 - Total E&P UK Limited - 30 Years of Music in Hospitals

A magical evening at Fyvie Castle in Aberdeenshire was organised by energy company Total E&P UK Limited to celebrate the 30 year partnership between the company and Music in Hospitals. A delectable dinner was followed by a superb performance from Music in Hospitals' own musicians. Guests included the Marquess and Marchioness of Aberdeen and Temair, the Lord and Lady Provost of Aberdeen, and MP for Banff and Buchan Dr Eilidh Whiteford. Music in Hospitals Scottish Patron Sally Magnusson also attended the event and the occasion provided a welcome opportunity to thank TOTAL for its outstanding support over the years.

Music along the West Highland Way

We are hugely grateful to Chris MacKinnon, David Morrison and David Berrich who walked the West Highland Way in aid of Music in Hospitals. The three Napier University music students raised enough money to fund three additional concerts and can be seen here at the top of the Devil's Staircase. Our many thanks to you.

April 2011
Summer in the City - 2!

Following the great success of the fashion show in Glasgow last year, Jill Dinsmore & Janis Sue Smith organised another fabulous 'Summer in the City' in aid of MiH and Scottish Disability Sport. Colin and Justin once again proved to be extremely persuasive auctioneers and raised the bar even higher than last year whilst bringing the house down with their impromptu disco number! Many thanks to Santander, whose fantastic staff helped on the night and who also made donations to both charities. A brilliant night once again and our huge thanks to everyone involved and to all those who donated so generously throughout the night.

Edington Ensemble at Glasgow Art Club

The Edington Ensemble once again gave a fantastic lunchtime recital in aid of MiH and Glasgow Art Club. Our many thanks to the musicians and Iain McGlashan for their ongoing support and congratulations on a superb concert.

November 2011

Vivace/Tango at Stockbridge Parish Church

Many thanks to everyone who came and supported our fundraising evening at Stockbridge Parish Church in November. The concert raised funds to provide a series of live concerts for people with dementia & our concerts team have already got them underway.

With an Argentine flavoured programme and some truly beautiful classical pieces, Daniela, Elspeth, Matthew and Gerardo gave a very moving performance and really demonstrated what MiH is all about. Our many thanks to them and indeed to all our musicians whose work makes such a difference to the lives of people in care.
